The Santa Fe Girls (#19) traveled over to Newcastle last weekend to participate in the annual Otho "Sweat Pea" Curtis Invitational.
The Lady Wolves started out with a first round win 55-31, against Heritage Hall. Senior Guard, Brooklyn Long led the way with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Freshman Jerney Bennett was right behind with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks.
After dropping the semi-final game to Piedmont girls, who are ranked #3 in class 5A, the Lady Wolves bounced back with a dominant 70-31 win against Christian Heritage Academy (3A).
Brooklyn Long was named to the All-Tournament Team. Over the course of the tournament she averaged 16.8 points and 6 rebounds.
Santa Fe heads to Kingfisher on Tuesday, January 26, to take on another Top 10 team. Tuesday night is GIRLS ONLY with JV starting at 4:30pm and Varsity girls at 6:30pm.
