MIKE MORTON

Coach Morton is in his 29th year of teaching and in his 19th year at Edmond Santa Fe. This is his 8th year as the head women's golf coach, and was an assistant for 5 years.

In his time here, he has also coached Baseball (assistant), Boys Basketball (JV coach/varsity assistant), and Girls Basketball (8 years assistant coach). He has been blessed to work with some talented teams and has been a part of 1 State Runner-up in Baseball (2009), 1 State Runner-up in Girls Basketball, and 2 State Championships in Girls Basketball (2011 & 2012). 

Coach Morton loves being at Santa Fe and bleeds "green and gray." He has 2 children who both graduated from Santa Fe and who were both involved in marching band and choir (men's choir and Finale). Both attend(ed) the University of Oklahoma. Joel (2022) graduated and is attending the University of Tulsa Law School in August. Lindsay (2024) is in her 3rd year at OU and is majoring in Architecture and Interior Design.

He is married to the "love of my life," Katrina, who is his best friend and keeps him on his toes. THey both met at Oklahoma Christian (OC) in college and were married in March 2020... and the next day, the world shut down. 

Coach Morton went to high school at Nile C. Kinnick High School (Yokosuka, Japan) where he played basketball and baseball.He then attended (and graduated from) Oklahoma Christian University... majoring in Business Administration w/ a minor in Education, as well as Vocational Ministry. He played baseball at OC his freshman year and halfway through his sophomore year, before injuring his shoulder and had to give it up.
