EDMOND — Lorenzo Williams can generally tell if his team is ready for a football game the moment they step on the bus.

Sometimes, it's not that easy when considering his group at Westmoore consists of “some weird guys.”

If Westmoore's coach couldn't pinpoint his players prior to Thursday's game, the scoreboard said it all.

Behind a quick-strike offense and a dominating defense, Westmoore pulverized Edmond, 64-21, at Wolves Stadium in a crucial game for District 1-6A-I positioning.

“We know what we can do,” said quarterback Braxton Bohrofen, who threw for 132 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.

“We were prepared today and it showed, obviously, on the scoreboard.”

Williams, who preached a fast start all week, watched his team race out to a 33-0 halftime lead. Running back Braxton George loosened up the defense with 168 yards and three scores on just nine carries, paving the way for Bohrofen to complete his first eight passes of the game.

But the defense was arguably the bigger story. The Jaguars (7-1, 3-1) forced two turnovers and four turnovers on downs, holding the Wolves to just one first down through two-plus quarters of play.

Edmond Santa Fe (4-4, 2-2) managed just 20 total yards in the first half, and 10 of its 29 plays either went for 1 or negative yards.

“It's one of those things you want to put a perfect game together at some point,” Williams said. “This is a good time to start hitting your stride in week 8, week 9.”

Six of Westmoore's touchdowns came on quick-strike drives of six plays or less.

Westmoore's Jacob Clark led all receivers with six catches for 75 yards and two scores.
