UAFS won its third game in a row and earned its first Heartland Conference win of the season on Wednesday night as the Lions beat the Oklahoma Christian Eagles 92-70 at the Stubblefield Center.
It was a season-high scoring performance for the Lions, who have only reached the 90-point plateau once this season in a 90-59 win against the Hendrix Warriors at the Stubblefield Center. UAFS entered Wednesday's game averaging 74 points per game.
It also was the second game of a three-game slate for UAFS (7-8, 1-2), who will play the Newman Jets at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan. The Lions were coming off a 61-59 nonconference win against the Randall Saints on Monday night at the Stubblefield Center.
Five players scored in double-figures to lead UAFS, which led all but the first two minutes of the game. Junior guard Tyler Williams scored a team-high 20 points, while senior guard Chris Crawford had 17, freshman forward David Ward 16 and junior forward Matt Morgan and junior guard Seth Hawley 14 apiece.
