Edmond Santa Fe's volleyball team was named co-champs of the Jenks Tournament this past weekend.
Class 6A No. 8 Santa Fe went 2-1 in pool play, dropping its opening match to Class 5A No. 8 Tulsa Kelley before beating Har-Ber (Ark.) and Jenks to advance to Saturday's gold bracket play. In the semifinals, the Wolves topped No. 4 Norman North in four sets.
Har-Ber also advanced to the championship match, but because coaches were worried about fatigue and injuries, they agreed not to play the finals and were named co-champions, Santa Fe coach Will Ethridge said.
Rorianna Chartier was named Tournament MVP, and Allison Pope made the All-Tournament team. Chartier led Santa Fe (13-9 overall) with 69 kills while Lainie Britton recorded the most aces (14) and digs (75).
Class 6A No. 1 Edmond North fell to Norman North in four sets in the third-place game.
