After coming off of a solid 2018-2019 march in the State tournament, head coach Paul Bass was looking to see how his team would start the 2019 year. Although the ladies played well in 3 quarters of play, Westmoore's 22-point third quarter was too much for the Ladies Wolves in the 51-44 loss at home.
Senior Kaylee Nero led the ladies with 16 points, 11 of those coming in the second half. Senior Ahonest Walker and junior Kashell Daughty both scored 9 a piece.
Westmoore offensive rebounds and some untimely turnovers were the deciding factor in this game. The ladies have a week to work on things before they travel to Stillwater next week to take on the Pioneers before their tournament in Harrah next week.

On Monday, the freshman team only needed 3 players to hold off the Lady Jags in overtime with a 60-59 win. 4 of the 7 players fouled out with 30 seconds left to play.
The lead changed hands back and forth all game long, and the game was physical from the opening tip. With only 3 players on the floor at the end, head coach Haylee Frazier had to come up with something creative--a triangle defense that proved to work against the Jags offense.
With 5 seconds left Jayda Holiman made a clutch free throw to put the ladies up by one. Pauline Lucas and Te’a Parker then did their part defensively to keep Westmoore from scoring at the buzzer. It was a team effort in the win and it truly came down to the buzzer.
The ladies will host Stillwater here next Monday. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
