Edmond Open Day 3: 4th Quarter surge not enough for Wolves

Day 3 of the Edmond Open Boys Basketball tournament didn't disappoint as all four games were played physically and tough. Edmond Santa Fe, in the 3:30 third place game, kept the game close versus Lawton--but fell short in the 49-48 loss.

Both teams had a tough time scoring in the first quarter with only a total of 12 points scored by both teams. At halftime, the Wolves went into the locker room trailing only by 3 points. Lawton, however, came out of their locker room on a 17-10 offensive tear, before the wolves' defense rallied to slow them down in the 4th quarter.

The Wolves did take the lead, late in the 4th quarter on some full-court defensive pressure, but the Wolverines managed to find a way to take the lead back and hold on until there were zeros on the clock.

The Wolves only have a couple of days to rest and regroup, before they travel to Stillwater on Tuesday to face the Pioneers.
