Jayden Thomas is this week's Swimmer of the Week for the Wolves. His strong performances in the meet on Jan. 14th gave a boost to the boys' team success. Thomas came in 3rd in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 3rd in the 100 Yard Freestyle.
"Jayden is hard working and has a great attitude and great team spirit. He is an instrumental part of the relay teams. He maintains a high grade point average (GPA) and is a great example of a high-achieving student athlete," said Megan Cline, Santa Fe assistant coach.
Overall, the boys placed 3rd, behind Edmond North and Stillwater, in the meet. The boys (Ethan Hollingsworth, Thomas, Ryan Harris, and Nathan Duong) took 3rd in the 200 yard Medley Relay. Ryan Harris took 2nd, Nathan Duong took 5th, and Aiden Archibald took 12th in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Hollingsworth took 3rd in the 200 Yard IM. Hollingsworth also placed 2nd in the 100 Yard Freestyle with teammate Jackson James coming in 6th place. Harris finished in 2nd in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Finally, the boys relay team too 1st place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (Thomas, Duong, Hollingsworth, and Harris)
The girls finished 5th in their meet. Kamryn Shaffer finished 4th in the 200 Yard Freestyle.DeShayla Thompson brought home gold (1st place) in the 50 Yard Freestyle, and teammate Kamryn Shaffer came in 8th.
The NEXT meet for the boys and girls will be Saturday, January 18th for the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference (COAC) conference meet which will be held at ESAC at 10 am!
