The boys and girls track teams traveled deep into Arkansas territory on Friday January 17, for their first meet of the season, the Arkansas Indoors.

The girls set two new school records at the Arkansas meet. Emmanuella Njenje ran a 25.53 in the 200. The girls 4x400 Myia Brown, Taya Crittenden, Emmanuella Njenje and Kylie Keene ran a 4:11.77 to set a new record.

The boys 4x800 qualified for Nationals with the time of 8:01.0 Cameron Barron, Martin Samwell, Max Wheeler and Connor Mayfield 2nd place. Jarrett Crump and Caden Peters were 2nd and 3rd in the pole vault. Jalen Nero was 13 out of 119 runners.

Both track teams will stay a little closer this week, traveling to the University of Oklahoma for the OU Indoor meet on Jan. 24. Starting time is 9 am.
