VARSITY FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

QUARTERFINALS

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
This award goes to two players who had outstanding games. The award for this week goes to junior quarterback #16 Scott Pfieffer and wide receiver #23 Angelo Rankin. Scott had a near perfect night with completing 20 passes out of 23 attempts and throwing for 318 yards for 5 touchdowns. Angelo Rankin also had a spectacular night with producing three touchdowns three different ways. Angelo had three receptions for 38 yards highlighted by a 31 yard Go route for a touchdown. Angelo had 3 rushing attempts for 79 yards that was highlighted by the play of the game with a 64 yard touchdown run in the final minute of the 1st half to help the Wolves take momentum of the game. Angelo, also threw a 7 yard touchdown pass to finish the night with three touchdowns.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME
This award, like the offensive award, goes to two players. Senior defensive end #9 James Burnett and sophomore linebacker #40 Chris Fitzpatrick. James had nine tackles with one being for a loss. James also had a quarterback sack along with a pass break up and several QB pressures. Chris finished the game with seven solo tackles and two more assisted tackles and a quarterback sack. Both men helped the defense play a great game.


SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
This award goes to freshmen kicker #98 Dakota Brash. Dakota was instrumental on winning the field position battle in the game and helped the kick off unit have a great night by pinning the Jaguars deep into their own territory throughout the game. Dakota placed the ball where the coaches asked him to place it and the execution helped the kick off unit. Dakota, also did a great job with the extra points.

LINEMEN OF THE WEEK
This award goes to junior wolf back #11 Tabry Shettron. Tabry did a great job blocking in the run game throughout the night, but also had a great night receiving with three catches for 28 yards and three touchdowns.

PRACTICE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The defensive coaches have been bragging on this player for the last two weeks about the look and effort he was giving them. This award goes to junior wide receiver #84 LB Reeves. He gave the varsity defense a great look at wide receiver and helped prepare the secondary for the look they would receive on game night.
