Edmond Santa Fe High School and she has a couple people that have made a difference in her life. “My mom has and will always influence me to make good decisions as well as support me throughout my endeavors,” she said.
“There is no doubt in my mind that she is the reason I am who I am today. Another
person would have to be my middle school math teacher Ms. Aldridge, who I had for three years in a row, taught me many life lessons as well as math.” Weldon plays pitcher and center field for the Lady Wolves softball team. Softball has been a big part of Lydia’s life so much so that she hopes that she is able to continue her career after high school. “The biggest goal that I have for myself is to plays softball in college,” she stated.
“That is really what I use to keep myself motivated and working hard.” Softball is an important part of Weldon’s life, but she also has other priorities and she says that it is important to keep your priorities in order. “Although my main goal is softball I
believe that keeping a balance between softball school and life is the most important thing that you can do. It is also good to be a nice person.”
When she is not playing or practicing and has some down time, Lydia enjoys catching up on her social media. While she follows some famous celebrities, there are others that she likes to follow the most. “I love to keep up with my old teammates on social media,” she said. “I like to see what they are doing with softball as well as life and in general. I also enjoy following people that post positive motivational content.” Outside of softball, Weldon has things that keep her busy. She is a member of the Key Club and the Debate Team.
